Province recommends mRNA COVID-19 boosters

Third dose recommendation guidance was updated by the Ministry of Health and mRNA COVID-19 vaccines continue to be preferred over other vaccines. A booster dose of the Novavax Nuvaxovid vaccine may be offered to individuals who have been unable or not willing to receive an mRNA vaccine.

Review recommendations for oral-nasal RATs. Rapid antigen tests can more reliably detect the Omicron variant if a combined oral-nasal sample is taken. It is recommended that adults swab both cheeks, back of the throat and both nostrils. Children should be swabbed on the tongue, both cheeks and both nostrils.
